Jordan Raney, member of the center and Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, has been given a DARPA Young Faculty Award for his work on materials with “distributed intelligence,” where many materials form superstructures of differing kinds dependent upon stimuli to the system. Jordan hopes to bring his research on 3D-printed centimeter-scale intelligent materials to the micron scale with time. We look forward to his group’s further research. Congratulations, Jordan!
