The Society for Language Development was incorporated in 2004 as a nonprofit organization supporting research in language development. SLD held its first annual symposium that year, in conjunction with the 2004 BUCLD meeting. This year’s annual symposium will be held the Thursday before the BUCLD meeting.
The Society’s journal is Language Learning and Development, with Toben Mintz as Editor, and Anna Papafragou and John Trueswell as Associate Editors. Taylor & Francis is the publisher. Our prior Editors were Susan Goldin-Meadow and Cynthia Fisher.
We encourage everyone to join the Society. As part of the annual Society dues you will receive the journal for FREE. Regular membership is $110 and student membership is $45. To join the Society, subscribe to Language Learning and Development, and you will automatically become a member of SLD. Subscriptions are handled by the journal publisher. The following link, to Taylor and Francis, will connect you to the journal’s homepage at the publisher. There you will find the the link for subscribing. Once you subscribe, Taylor and Francis will send SLD your name as a member.
We look forward to seeing you at the Society for Language Development symposium in the Fall and we hope you will encourage your colleagues and students to join the Society so that you all may receive the newest volume of the journal.
