Below are the workshops that have been organized with the support of American Association Teachers of Turkic, Near Eastern Languages of Civilization, and the Middle East Center at the University of Pennsylvania.
The Azeri and Uzbek Workshops took place on April 26-27, 2018 at UPenn with participants from and outside of Penn. The workshops covered the alphabet reform movements in these languages and their writing systems, comparisons in their grammar structures, sample speaking exercises, and a case study on an Uzbek class at Penn.
The Turkish Language Learning Framework Workshop was held on May 4-5, 2018 at UPenn with the support of the Middle East Center at University of Pennsylvania, Penn Language Center (PLC), and Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. This workshop was one of the workshop series concentrated on updating the Turkish Language Learning and Teaching Framework according to todays’ norms and standards for higher education.
