A Dialogue Between Fields: East Asian Studies & Asian American Studies
March 19, 2021, 7-8PM
Since the beginning of COVID-19, Asians and Asian Americans have been resisting similar violences. At the same time, international recognition of films like Parasite (2019) and Minari (2020) have brought together people of different Asian backgrounds to celebrate their culture as well. In this present moment, it appears timely to explore possible coalitions between East Asian and Asian American Studies. I will be joined by Dr. Ayako Kano, Dr. Josephine Park and Ava Kim, who will share their thoughts and experiences related to this topic. All interested graduate students are cordially invited to this informal conversation.
