Randall Kamien
Vicki and William Abrams Professor in the Natural Sciences
Randall Kamien is a professor of physics and astronomy whose research centers on problems in soft condensed matter theory, including crystal structure. He holds a secondary appointment in mathematics. He is lead editor for the journal Reviews of Modern Physics, and has more than 120 publications to his credit.
Kamien has been a Simons Investigator and his awards include the G.W. Gray Medal and the Samsung Mid-Career Award. He has received fellowships from the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Physical Society, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1992.
