Dirk Krueger is an internationally recognized macroeconomist who has made important contributions to the understanding of aggregate consumption dynamics, the impact of recessions on the income distribution, and heterogeneous agent macroeconomics more broadly. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research, London, and of Netspar, in Tilburg, Netherlands, and currently serves as managing editor of the Review of Economic Studies. At Penn, Krueger has served as Department Chair and Graduate Chair in Economics, and as a member of the Penn Arts and Sciences Personnel Committee and Planning and Priorities Committee.
