Hui received his Ph.D. from Temple University under the guidance of Hai-Lung Dai in 2020, where he studied the interfacial processes (e.g. charge transfer, molecule adsorption) in solar energy conversion systems by ultrafast and nonlinear spectroscopies (e.g. Transient IR Absorption, Second Harmonic Scattering). He postdoc’d with Shengye Jin at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics in 2021 using Transient Absorption Microscopy and Time-resolved Photoluminescence Imaging to investigate the excited state dynamics of polarons in perovskite. At Penn, he will focus on local environment understanding about inorganic and organic photocatalyst by Atomic Force Microscope, Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, and Electrochemical techniques.
