Title: Configuration spaces are cool

Abstract: Take your favorite topological space and think about all the ways you could embed n points into it, without the points coinciding. By wiggling the points around, the collection of all possible configurations of n points forms a space, aptly named a configuration space. In this talk, I’ll appeal to ideas in low-dimensional and algebraic topology to try to convince you that configuration spaces are fun and interesting.
