Abstract:

First-passage Percolation (FPP) was first introduced as a model of fluid flow through a random medium. This talk will be an overview of the model of FPP. We will first define the model on the d-dimensional integer lattice with independent and identically distributed edge weights and then explore some results obtained in the ‘80s and ‘90s on the time constant and limit shapes.
