Pointless topology: because why not?

January 19, 2018

Speaker: Anschel Schaffer-Cohen

Abstract:

We all know (and love?) point-set topology as the most abstract generalization of topological spaces this side of sheaf theory. But with the help of posets and a bit of category theory we can go one step further, and do point-set topology without the actual points. The speaker promises to avoid any serious discussion of applications.
