December 2, 2022
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Speaker: Thomas Brazelton

Abstract: How can a group of people come to a compromise when making a decision from a set of options? What about when similarity of options is taken into account? We will talk about so-called “social choice functions” on topological spaces, and talk about the history of this problem in mathematics and economics.
