Abstract: The common definition of a manifold includes the requirement that our topological space be separable, i.e. have a countable dense subset. What happens when we drop that requirement? Introducing the somewhat unimaginatively named Long Line, which is, well, longer than a normal line. I promise it’s more interesting than it sounds.
