Curriculum
- New curricula and other academic opportunities tied to strategic plan themes
- Ongoing faculty assessment of general requirement courses and majors after 2014 Middle States review
- Enhancement of Critical Writing Programs
- Review of and support for introductory/gateway courses
- Extended commitment to Integrated Studies Program
Teaching
- SAS Teaching Initiative launched AY19: includes faculty working groups on pedagogical issues and course development grants
- Promotion of Structured Active In-Class Learning (SAIL) across departments
- Promotion of object-based learning. Includes creation of Center for Analysis of Archaeological Materials partnership with Penn Museum
- Diversity: Worked with Center for Teaching and Learning in development of programming on inclusive teaching and the teaching of cultural diversity
Improving advising
- Addressing advising issues on an ongoing basis through College advisory working groups
- Coordinating closely with central student services offices
- Giving special attention to issues of FGLI students, including active involvement in Penn First Plus, Penn Pathways initiatives
- Engaging in University efforts around student wellness
Expanded internship and service opportunities
- Revamped Penn-in-Washington program
- Expansion of RealArts@Penn, Fox Leadership Program
Raised $64.1 million in support of undergraduate financial aid from AY1-18.
