Mental Health Wellness Series #11 Destress during the stressful time: Let’s have tea and dessert

On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the serene atmosphere of relaxation enveloped the campus as the “De-stress During the Stressful Time: Let’s Have Tea and Dessert!” event unfolded. Hosted by Grace Wu, a senior lecturer in the Foreign Languages department within the Chinese Language Program, and generously sponsored by the Matthew Y Wang Memorial Fund, the event aimed to provide students with a rejuvenating break from the pressures of academic life during the final weeks at Penn.

The event offered a diverse array of activities designed to promote relaxation and well-being. Participants were treated to chair yoga sessions, guided meditation sessions led by experienced facilitators, and acupressure techniques to relieve tension and stress. These activities provided attendees with practical tools to manage stress and cultivate a sense of inner peace.

In addition to these mindfulness activities, students indulged in the simple pleasures of bubble tea and delectable desserts. These treats served as delightful accompaniments to the relaxation exercises, further enhancing the overall experience of tranquility and enjoyment. The event was a resounding success, providing students with a much-needed opportunity to unwind and recharge amidst their busy schedules.
