On April 1, 2023, two students from Penn received awards at the 2nd Mid-Atlantic Korean Speech Contest, marking the second year in a row that Penn students have received recognition at the event. This is a remarkable achievement for the program and the university as a whole. The competition saw 22 Korean language students from 10 different schools competing across three levels. The three Penn students who were selected to compete, Smriti Sanjay-Gopal, Charlotte Fox, and Katie Oh, put up an impressive performance at the contest. Smriti Sanjay-Gopal won second place in the Level 1: Personal Experience section, while Charlotte Fox secured second place in the Level 2: Informative Speech and Opinion section. Congratulations on everyone’s excellent performance!!
