Academics

The Korean Language Program offers the following courses during a given semester. They range from Korean language courses that span from beginning level Korean to advanced Korean as well as East Asian Studies courses that include all cultural components from modern to traditional.

Within our five-year curriculum, there are two tracks for the first two years, as follows:

  • Non-heritage learners’ track (Placement test required for placement beyond KORN 0100):
    • KORN 0100 (Beginning Korean I)
    • KORN 0200 (Beginning Korean II; the final course required to fulfill the Nursing and Wharton language requirements)
    • KORN 0300 (Intermediate Korean I)
    • KORN 0400 (Intermediate Korean II; the final course required to fulfill the SAS language requirement)
  • Heritage learners’ track (Placement test required):
    • KORN 0220 (Korean for Heritage Speakers I; the final course required to fulfill the Nursing and Wharton language requirements)
    • KORN 0420 (Korean for Heritage Speakers II; the final course required to fulfill the SAS language requirement)
