Hi, I’m Sai Nehete from Mumbai, India! I’m an outgoing person who enjoys interacting and meeting with people from diverse backgrounds. I’m super excited to be a part of LPSGov and represent my program! I’m pursuing a Masters in organic chemistry. Besides that, I enjoy participating in various events, hanging out with my friends, traveling, dancing and cooking. Looking forward to a wonderful 2023-24 team year!

Anlan Zhao

Anlan is a first-year MCS student with a concentration in biological chemistry. She graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China. During her undergraduate studies, Anlan focused on analyzing chemical proteomics-based dynamic protein complexes relating to pancreatic cancer, working at SUSTech and Scripps Research labs. Joining LPSGov is an opportunity for her to make a tangible impact, and Anlan is eager to take on this role and represent the MCS program with dedication and enthusiasm. In her free time, she enjoys cooking (a past UC Berkeley Caldining student worker), skiing (a current Wharton Ski & Snowboard Club member), Chinese calligraphy, hip-hop dancing, and photography.

Dylan Gordon

Representative - Master of Science in Applied Geosciences

Dylan is a graduate student pursuing an M.S. in Applied Geosciences. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh attaining a B.S. in Natural Sciences with a discipline in Geology and Environmental Sciences. During his undergraduate career, Dylan has focused on studying the natural world, working at the University of Pittsburgh’s Climate and Global Change Center and Hydrology Laboratory.  Dylan is also a recipient of the Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship, which has allowed him to engage in research on underground hydrogen storage at the National Energy Technology Laboratory. Outside of academics, Dylan is interested in playing volleyball, going on hikes, gardening, and exploring the outdoors.

I am a geologist who has spent my career exploring the wonders of the Earth’s geological processes. Growing up in a small town, Hatyai, Thailand, I developed a deep appreciation for minerals and resources that guided my academic path. Passionate about environmental conservation, I strive to promote sustainable practices within the mining and energy industries. As a part of the LPSGov, I find joy in sharing my knowledge and allowing each student to thrive and make a positive impact on their academic journey.

Mary Doyle is currently a student in the MLA program at University Of Pennsylvania. A former graduate of Berklee College Of Music, Mary enjoys composing music and Screenwriting.
Rachel Kurlander

Rachel is a part-time Master of Liberal Arts student and full-time Penn employee. In her studies, she seeks to better understand her adopted home of Philadelphia through courses in urbanism, economics, and community development. Outside of the classroom, she’s an Associate Director in Penn’s Office of Government and Community Affairs. When she’s away from her desk, Rachel enjoys running, swimming, hiking, camping, and just about any activity where she can spend time outdoors with her partner and their dog, Cora.

Rong Tang

Rong Tang is currently enrolled in M.S. in Organizational Dynamics, and she possesses a BA in Business Management from TU Dortmund in Germany. After graduating from university, facing doubts and opposition, she remained resolute in her determination to pursue childhood dream of flying and secured a position as a senior business-class flight attendant with a prestigious five-star airline, who possesses fluency in Chinese, German, Japanese, and English. Subsequently, she resigned in order to bring the world’s cutting-edge cabin services to her homeland and returned to China, where she was employed as the deputy manager of the cabin department at the largest airline in the country. Life is like flying, but far beyond flying, therefore, she returns to the financial sector and works as an equity research assistant at a top securities company in China. In the future, she anticipates devoting herself to cultivating her career in the financial industry and promoting Feminism, aiming to empower more women to courageously pursue and achieve their dreams.

Miao studied at four universities, including in Taiwan and at Columbia University. In her gap year, she participated in an on-ship study abroad program where she studied and traveled across five continents. During her undergraduate, she interned at Investment Banking and the United Nations. After graduating, Miao started her career as a management trainee at the world’s largest database management company. Later, she joined one of the world’s largest e-commerce companies, specializing in cloud computing. Last year, she founded her own tech start-up company. Additionally, Miao enjoys engaging in adventurous activities such as skiing, rock climbing, skydiving, and bouldering. As a woman in tech and an entrepreneur, she is eager to help more students understand the program from a trustworthy perspective.

Avneet was born and raised in California, where she received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. She worked as a financial analyst for international programs at UC San Diego prior to moving to Philadelphia to pursue her Master of Public Administration at Penn. She enjoys spending time with animals, being outdoors, and reading in her free time.

Josh is New York born, but Philadelphia is his adopted home. After graduating from Drexel University in 2019, he worked in the legal industry before starting his own bagel business called New York Bagel Butler. In his free time, Josh enjoys playing with his Australian Shepherd and chinchilla, as well as donating his time to volunteer at various nonprofit organizations around Philadelphia. On Sundays, you can catch him yelling “GO BIRDS” at the TV.

My name is Jing Ge. And my English name is Jane. My undergraduate major was accounting. I really like to participate in various volunteer activities, so I joined the Volunteer Association of the university during my undergraduate study, and I was honored to serve as the president of the association for a period of time. Especially because of the volunteer experience in the COVID-19 epidemic, I have developed a strong interest in the major of public administration, so I choose IMPA as my master’s program. My daily hobbies include traveling, playing Legos, and dancing. I’m looking forward to studying at Penn while also getting involved in the campus community.

Keyi is a full-time student in the IMPA program. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Keyi worked for a year at GE Healthcare and CITIC bank. Keyi also conducted independent research on the role of the market in the healthcare system and how collaboration works between government and private sectors. In Keyi’s spare time, she likes to go to the music festival and enjoy the music. As a program representative, Keyi hopes to hear from their peers, provide their feedback to the program director, and host memorable events for IMPA students.

Danielle is a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology student, driven by her ambition to become an Organizational Positive Psychologist. She’s deeply passionate about the transformative potential of positive psychology, which shifts the focus of conventional psychology to a holistic perspective rooted in optimism. Eager to combine her academic pursuit with her bachelor’s degree in Adult and Organizational Development, Danielle aims to be an agent of change to foster both individual and organizational flourishing.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Danielle finds joy in nurturing her well-being through various mental and physical exercises. She’s an avid practitioner of meditation and yoga, a regular gym-goer, and a devoted reader.

With a solid foundation in psychology and expertise in emotional well-being, Patricia empowers individuals through evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in online settings. Beyond her academic pursuits, she passionately shares her knowledge through psychoeducational talks and on social media, inspiring personal growth and resilience. Patricia’s mission is to be a catalyst for flourishing, fostering positive change at both individual and collective levels.

Nicole is a student in the Masters of Behavioral and Decision Sciences program. She attended Eckerd College, where she worked as a student ambassador and a TA, and graduated in 2020 with degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies. In her free time, Nicole enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, watching and playing soccer, and knitting. As an MBDS representative, she hopes to work closely with her peers and professors to create a program that offers opportunities that allow students to make the most of their time at Penn.

Saumya Seth

Saumya Seth (she/her) is a full-time graduate student at MBDS. She began her professional journey at Albright Stonebridge Group’s South Asia practice, where she helped global enterprises align their business strategies with regional policy developments and identified prospects for sustainable growth. Saumya then transitioned to tech and worked on Strategy for an early-stage startup building digital solutions for developing behavioral and cognitive skills in adult learners. She loves bringing people together through conversations and camaraderie. She equally enjoys the company of her furry friends. Fascinated by languages, she is currently learning French and Punjabi. Saumya holds a degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, and was a Young India Fellow at Ashoka University.
