Media Environments and Earth Archive: Curating Ecological Knowledge – Workshop for Graduate Students

The Penn Center for Science, Sustainability and the Media is excited to host a workshop led by visiting PhD Students Nina Halton-Hernandez and Alejandro Limpo Gonzalez called “Media Environments and Earth Archive: Curating Ecological Knowledge”. Nina and Alejandro join PCSSM from the University of Southampton in the UK sponsored by the Leverhulme Trust. This workshop is for graduate students (masters and doctoral) and will take place on November 7 from 9am-2pm – breakfast and lunch served. See below for workshop flyer and longform abstract for more info. Interested post-docs may also register for the workshop.

About the workshop:

What role do environmental archives play in the construction of ecological knowledge? How can we critically engage with environments through data archives and repositories? This workshop delves into the evolving relationship between archives and environments. Starting from an environmental humanities perspective, the workshop will encourage interdisciplinary discussion of environmental data and provide a space to share and discuss your own research.
