Two Students Won the Gold Award in the Final Round of J.LIVE Talk
Barbara Chen (Undergraduate, Arts & Sciences) and Zizhou Wang (MA Student, EALC) won the gold award in the final round of the speech competition called J.LIVE Talk, organized by George Washington University. Big congratulation!
NATIONAL JAPANESE EXAM 2016
In Spring 2016 , the first-year level and the second-year level students from Japanese Language Program participated in National Japanese Exam.The National Japanese Exam (NJE) is an online, proficiency-oriented, standards-based and culture-related assessment tool for middle school (junior high), high school, and college students who are studying Japanese as a second language. It was developed by AATJ (American Association of Teachers of Japanese) as a way for such students to test their Japanese skills and participate in a nation-wide exam with awards for high achievement (text taken directly from http://www.aatj.org/nje).

1. Ms. Camille Yuki Knapp: ranked #1 nationwide and received “GOLD” medal/certificate from AATJ.(took NJE Level 3- 2nd year Japanese language student)
2. Ms. Tanya Datta: ranked #1 nationwide and received “GOLD” medal/certificate from AATJ.(took NJE Level 3- 2nd year Japanese language student)
3. Mr. Samuel Miner: received “BRONZE” Level Certificate (70-79 Percentile).(took NJE Level 2- 1st year Japanese language student)
